# Recharge integration for paid acquisition

Hendrik reads Recharge customers, subscriptions, charges, orders, and plans so you can separate subscription renewal and churn from one time commerce or advertising reports.

## Questions Hendrik can help answer

- Did renewals or churn change the acquisition result?
- Do Recharge order totals overlap with Shopify?
- Should subscription retention change the next campaign test?

## Illustrative example

### Assess a subscriber offer before scaling acquisition

Same 30-day USD windows

*About this example: Synthetic data · illustrative analysis · Hendrik only acts with the permissions you give it.*

- Spend (Google Ads): US$24,000 → US$28,000
- Active subscriptions (Recharge): 4,100 → 3,760
- Successful charges (Recharge): 5,900 → 5,020

### What Hendrik checks

- **Review plan changes:** Check whether pricing, shipping, or product changes occurred.
- **Inspect charge failures:** Separate failed charges from voluntary churn.
- **Avoid overlap:** Do not add Recharge orders to Shopify order totals.

### What Hendrik sees

Ad spend increased while active subscriptions and successful charges fell.

### What to do next

Review subscription retention before expanding acquisition spend.

**Limit:** The example does not link subscribers or charges to Google Ads campaigns.

## What Recharge contributes

Use Recharge with Shopify and ad data to compare subscription retention with acquisition spend.

## Data Hendrik reads

- **Subscriptions:** Subscription state and plan context.
- **Charges:** Subscription charge data.
- **Orders:** Recharge order records.
- **Plans:** Subscription plan data.
- **Customers:** Subscription customer records.

## Setup and access

- **Setup:** When enabled, provide a Recharge API token with the required read permissions and confirm the store.
- **Permissions:** Recharge read permissions for shop, customers, orders, products, and subscriptions.
- **Accounts:** One Recharge store.
- **History:** The current product configuration defaults to 90 days. Hendrik shows the actual coverage after the first sync.
- **Refresh:** Configured data streams run every 3 to 6 hours. Hendrik shows the published freshness for each source after sync.
- **Setup timing:** Recharge starts its initial sync after authorization, account selection, and data checks. The duration depends on the selected account and history.
- **Actions:** Connecting reads Recharge data. It does not change subscriptions, orders, or charges.
- **Availability:** Your workspace shows Connect or Request access for your account.

## What you need to connect

- Confirm the Recharge account and reporting window.
- Define whether the question concerns subscriptions, charges, or orders.
- Establish overlap rules with Shopify before adding any totals.

## Important limits

- Recharge orders can overlap with Shopify orders.
- A charge outcome is not automatically a paid acquisition outcome.
- Subscription identity must be established before cross-source customer claims.
